Do Your Boss A Favour—Toss Them Off a Bridge!

Get ready to plunge to new depths for an incredible cause! The Nanaimo Brain Injury Society (NBIS) is excited to bring back the thrilling “Toss the Boss” event on Friday, October 4th, 2024, at WildPlay Nanaimo. This one-of-a-kind fundraiser is not just about adrenaline—it’s about making a tangible difference for brain injury survivors and their families.

Since 1988, NBIS has been a cornerstone in supporting those affected by acquired brain injuries on Vancouver Island. Their mission is clear: to enhance the quality of life for brain injury survivors and their caregivers through support, education, and advocacy.

WildPlay Element Parks, known for their adventure parks across North America, is the perfect backdrop for this exciting event. From aerial adventure courses to bungy jumping, WildPlay Nanaimo offers a thrilling array of activities.

Here’s the scoop: “Toss the Boss” invites businesses, organizations, and community groups to form teams and challenge their leaders—whether they’re CEO’s, professors, or managers—to take a daring leap off WildPlay’s 150ft bridge, safely secured by a bungy cord. To get in on the action, teams need to register at www.tosstheboss.ca and raise a minimum of $1,000 to secure their jump slot. It’s not just about the jump; it’s about rallying together for a great cause.

Beyond the heart-pounding excitement of bungy jumping, the event promises a day of community fun. Enjoy a mouthwatering barbeque, network with fellow participants, and take advantage of WildPlay’s other adventure offerings, like axe throwing and adventure courses.

“Brain injury is a life-changing event that can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere, including through concussion, stroke, or accidents,” says Kix Citton, NBIS Executive Director. “One in twenty people in our community is affected by acquired brain injury. By participating in ‘Toss the Boss,’ businesses and individuals are helping to shine a light on this critical issue and provide much-needed support.”

Last year’s event blew past the $50,000 fundraising goal, and this year, we’re aiming even higher. All proceeds will go directly to supporting, educating, and advocating for brain injury survivors and their caregivers.
