Brewing Something More than just Coffee In Nanaimo

White Rabbit Coffee Co. has become a unique destination in Nanaimo, offering more than just a cup of coffee. Nestled in the heart of the city within an old train station, White Rabbit is part of a larger vision shared by owner and Creative Director, Amy Ferris. The station itself hosts four distinct spaces: White Rabbit, Black Rabbit, The General, and The Attic. Together, they serve as a community hub where locals can gather, enjoy quality food and coffee, and connect.

The creation of White Rabbit and Black Rabbit was a natural extension of Amy’s passion for building a space that fosters community. From the beginning, Amy and her team envisioned a place that brings people together and supports local culture. Now, years after their doors first opened, Amy reflects on the rewarding journey of turning that dream into a thriving part of Nanaimo’s social fabric.

Being based in Nanaimo has also been a rewarding experience for Amy and her team. As she describes it, “Witnessing the city’s growth and evolution firsthand is a unique privilege. It’s inspiring to be part of a community that values creativity and supports local businesses.” White Rabbit’s team feels connected to Nanaimo’s growth, taking pride in being a part of the city’s vibrant cultural landscape and contributing to its development.

Reflecting on the challenges of the past few years, Amy emphasizes her pride in her team’s resilience. The journey hasn’t always been easy, especially with the hurdles brought on by the pandemic. But moving forward, White Rabbit Coffee Co. is looking to the future with optimism, eager to continue exploring ways to connect with the community and contribute to Nanaimo’s creative scene.

For locals and visitors alike, White Rabbit Coffee Co. offers a warm, welcoming spot to experience Nanaimo’s sense of community, one cup at a time.
