About the Event
In recognition of World Ocean Day, SEAMOR Marine is bringing together local organizations and community volunteers for an underwater cleanup of the waterway at Maffeo Sutton Park.
Using a combination of trained divers and remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), the team will work to locate and recover debris from the harbour floor. ROVs on the water will include the Nanaimo Port Authority’s Steelhead ROV alongside demo units provided by SEAMOR Marine, with trained pilots at the controls and volunteers assisting on the surface.
This event is part of a broader effort to protect Nanaimo’s marine environment and bring the community together around ocean health.
